CANVAS HOVE

ALL ABOUT YOUR STAY

Everything about your stay at Canvas Hove

Here is an overview of how the camp works. We are at the very beginning of this adventure and advice that not everything works exactly as planned yet. We promise to find good solutions for our guests.

How do I get there?

Canvas Hove is beautifully situated all the way to the sea on Tromøya near Arendal. The address is Hoveodden 200, 4818 FÆRVIK. There is a large car park at the end of Hoveodden where parking is free. The reception is 150 meters away along the beach. If you have a lot of luggage, leave it in the car and you can borrow an electric bike or cart from us to collect it. We want to make your stay on Canvas Hove an outdoor experience. Therefore, we want a most car-free zone in the camp.

Cuba

Cuba is the name of the reception. This is also the kiosk, activity center and the wellness department at Canvas Hove. Here you can buy ice cream, sausages, soda and fresh rolls in the morning. Here you can also rent SUP trays, glass bottom canoes, electric transport bicycles on an hourly basis, or opt for the ongoing guide-led activities. Outside the kiosk there is a lovely sauna with sea views and wood-fired stamps and an ice bath.

Opening hours in summer: 11.00-20.00.

Everyone, both residents and visitors to the area, can rent themselves into the welfare department. Guests in the yurts and boat tent have included it in the price. Tents and camping cabins pay SEK 50 and for non-residents it costs SEK 100.

Check in

When you check in at “Cuba” you will be directed to your cabin, space to set up your brought tent or the glamping tent you have ordered. Bed linen is also provided if you have not booked beds made. Check-in from 3 pm, check-out no later than 12 noon.

The restaurant

Restaurant Canvas has been refurbished this year and is open for lunch and dinner from 12-20. We serve drinks throughout the evening if there are people. Here is served a la carte menu with delicious snacks and main courses mainly from the sea. The restaurant has all rights and is of course open to the many who go hiking in Hove.

You can have breakfast with yourself, or we sell fresh rolls, coffee and juice in the morning from 08. A la carte is open from 12-20.

We can accommodate 80 people inside and around 100 people on the outdoor terrace. If you want to book for a party or dinner, just call +47 370 30 400.

Dock

There are guest docks with room for about 40 boats by the beach on Canvas Hove. It is two minutes to walk from the jetty and up to the restaurant and kiosk. Here it is free to stay in the daytime but accommodation costs 250kr for boat owners. Limited access to electricity and fresh water.

Activity Center

Most of our guests are supposed to come to Canvas Hove to play, run exciting activities and get their attention on the elements. Our activities are at the center of our concept. The activity center is located together with the kiosk. You will find a rich activity menu and rental of sports equipment. The activities we offer in 2019 are SUP, glass bottom canoe, underwater safari, trail biking, trimaran sailing and snorkeling. We will also arrange courses in windsurfing.

Shower / WC

There are two toilets and three showers at “Cuba”. In addition, there are many showers and toilets in the sanitary building under the restaurant, but here you need access cards and tokens for the showers. This is available in the kiosk in “Cuba”.

Outdoor kitchen

At Canvas Hove there are four self-designed mobile outdoor kitchens that can be moved wherever you want them. The outdoor kitchen contains a wood-burning stove with grill plate, fridge, coffee maker and table and chairs for 8-10 people. Renting the outdoor kitchen costs SEK 500 per day. Tell the kiosk if and where you want to place it, and we will arrange the rest.
